Cinnamon Pants... or something

When I get REALLY bored I bake. I will make all sorts of stuff if I have the time. Today is a new cinnamon roll recipe. I love cinnamon rolls. If I could I would marry them and have little cinnamon roll babies, then I would eat those babies and then be thrown in jail for eating my young. I think I'll stick to the human husband for now. I do really love to bake though. It's one of those weird things that I never really learned to do as a kid but really took a shine to once I was married and could boil water.

Let me take you back a bit. When we first got married (almost 16 years ago) I could hardly cook anything. Joe put up with a myriad of craptastic food until I finally got the hang of it. The man was a saint. He would choke down my hockey puck like pork chops and then I would suggest that we go eat at his folks house across town. It was bad. He would help me out as much as I would let him. We would try different things and we found out that if I had a recipe in front of me I might not suck so bad at cooking. These days I hardly use recipes or I'll just use them as suggestions. I no longer make hockey puck food. The baking however was just easy to pick up. Joe can't bake. He can make soups that will punch your face off but the man can't make a loaf of bread. I don't know  how he missed out on that gene from his family but he did. Maybe he was dropped on his head too many times at the bakery growing up (or hit his head on the floor due to tantrums) and the baking knowledge just sort of seeped out. I on the other hand can bake like a baking monkey. I love it too. I love making bread. The smells that come from baking are so good and really should be bottled and sold instead of all those fake flowery smells.

My rolls have been cut and are rising a second time before I bake them.  I can't wait to see how they turn out. I also hope that it doesn't heat up the house too much. I think I might be willing to sweat some just for some cinnamon rolls. They just better be yummy.
